Finally got a heart rate monitor!

Guys, I’m so so excited. It’s the Polar FT4 which is a pretty basic model, but I’m really just excited to start using it. I’ve seen a bunch of people on here who have this same model, so hopefully it works out well. 

I actually can’t believe I’m this excited. 


Today was actually a pretty good day. I went to the gym and ran and then walked quickly at an incline and did some POP Pilates for abs last night. I’ve decided I’m going to keep the walking at an incline as a regular thing from now on. I love running, but I just feel the incline so much more. Obviously, I’d like to work up to doing HIITs that way, but for now 10 minutes of that after a run works for me. 

Also, made a really good dinner. Wheat berries with broccoli, chick peas, a little corn, and spinach cooked in veggie broth and topped with a little soy cheese. 

So, new work out plan.

After taking about a month off from exercising I’m working on getting back to running and pilates. Right now I’m looking at starting to run 3 times a week and do pilates on two other days with two rest days somewhere in the week. 

About the break: I honestly don’t feel bad about taking the time off. I didn’t have a meltdown and nothing traumatic happened, I just didn’t feel good constantly putting pressure on myself, so I stopped for a little bit. Exercise is supposed to make you feel good and when all you’re doing is stressing over it, it’s time to take a break and create a healthy environment where you actually look forward to working out again. I know a lot of posts on here talk about pushing through everything in order to get a workout in, but I’m just not going to make myself miserable. I’ve put on a little bit of weight, but I’m also perfectly fine with that because I’m not going to let a number on a scale determine what I do with my life. 

So yeah, I want to start right away so I’m just going to update my weekly goals on Thursdays and see how that goes.

I’m so sore today

I might just end up walking. I’ve never gotten sore right above the backs of my knees before, so I’m going to see how I feel and then decide. If not walking maybe 30DS…?

Daily: July 2nd 2013


  • Breakfast: 1 apple with peanut butter
  • Lunch: watermelon and 2 vegan burgers
  • Dinner: Veggie burger with bun and some sweet potato fries
  • Snacks: 2 slices of ezekiel bread with earth balance, 1 banana, some peanut butter, and apple


  • POP Pilates Arms on Fire Video (rest day).

Victory of the day: My dad bought like 12 containers of pre-made mac and cheese and potatoes. I had none of it. Also did not eat my brother’s leftover pizza this morning. 

Daily: July 1, 2013


Breakfast: 1/2 c Ezekiel Cereal with 1 c. almond milk and a banana

Lunch: Watermelon (like, a lot) and an apple

Dinner: Brown rice, black beans, Gardein chicken, 1 piece of ezekeil bread with some earth balance

Snacks: apple, oatmeal with peanut butter and banana. 

Water: All 100 oz. 

Exercise: Ran/walked 3.14 miles. 

Victory of the day: brother ordered Domino’s and I didn’t eat it, but I really wanted to. It was also raining when I went for my run but I finished it anyway. 

Feels: I felt pretty good today, but it went up and down. I’m really looking to find a job right now, and I ‘m struggling finding places to look. Also, the guy I’m seeing didn’t text which is whatever. I don’t want it to go to shit, but if it does, I’ll survive. It’s just so annoying when things don’t work out. 

I wish I had someone to go running with meeee

Both my sisters are upstate and I only have my brother who definitely won’t go with me. :/

I can’t wait to run on Wednesday

I just did some weights today, and I seriously can’t wait. I might go tomorrow night after my last class finishes, but that’s gonna depend on how much studying I have to do. I’m just so restless. 

I’m trapped in my apartment…

I can’t find any clean sports bras…

So, I’ve doubled up on regular bras, and am now off to the gym.

No excuses…?

I actually managed to get up early this morning to go to the gym.

Finally getting a routine back at school :).

I did a 2.75 mi recovery run and then the normal stuff: squats, ab work, push-ups. I’m thinking yoga tonight possibly?

Workout 1/17/13

I’m kinda bad about posting these everyday, but I was really pleased with today:

Then I did a bunch of upper body stuff and a little bit of ab work. I know that 5k time isn’t super fast, but when I first started running I wasn’t able to finish in less than 45 minutes. Yay progress! :)

I can run again!

I did a 10 minute mile today with no pain during and only a little soreness after. Warming up is this bitch’s new best friend. Ugh, finally.
